Reltel Wireless formally unveiled their new brand identity as ZOOMmobile at a press conference in Lagos on Tuesday July, 29 2008. The new brand identity represents a significant landmark in the company’s history and further indicates the company’s evolution to a total telecommunications solutions company.
The company's executive vice chairman, Ken Aigbinode, while announcing the new brand identity at the press conference said "Our rebranding is deeply rooted in an evolving internal culture of service excellence".
The change of the name and identity to ZOOMmobile is to emphasise its role as one of the leading telecommunications company in Nigeria. The new look, which was unveiled recently is designed to attract a wider audience of people. The new colours of the logo are Black White and Orange. Black represents, stability, depth, coverage, while white represents clarity, transparency, and orange, warmth and change.
It also includes a new tagline: “ZOOM Mobile. Full Speed Ahead” This tagline is ZOOM Mobile’s unique brand promise and is designed to communicate the commitment to their consumers as they Join them on the journey that takes them full speed into the future.
The new brand identity signals the new direction the company is headed today and symbolizes their commitment to continue offering high quality mobile and internet services to the Nigerian public. The New brand will be easily differentiated in the mobile marketplace and lead to increased customer loyalty.
The ZOOMmobile brand identifies itself as youthful, vibrant and dynamic, said, the Executive Vice Chairman, yet with the professionalism to offer unrivalled speed and reliability. Taken together, Zoom Mobile promises to improve the overall user experience.
With the launch of the new identity, Zoom Mobile aims to be the single brand for fixed wireless, mobile telephone as well as high speed internet and data services in Nigeria.
Along with the rebranding, ZOOMmobile introduced a new numbering plan. The 0707 series will allow for up to 10 million lines.
